Ascocarps: Perithecioid (subspherical), not emerging (initially immersed in the host thallus and apothecia, later erumpent), becoming adnate, .06-.12 mm in diam.. Margin: Black. Periphyses: Present (periphyses, hyaline, septate, branched).
Ascospores: 12-16 (c. 256-spored) per ascus, 3.5-5 µm long, 1.7-2.3 µm wide; septa present; transversally septate; 1-transversally septate; wall thin, .2 µm wide, pale brown (olivaceous), not ornamented.
Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.
