Margin: Lecideine/biatorine, smooth, black, homogenously pigmented; external filaments absent. Disk: Smooth. Exciple: Not carbonized, dark brown. Periphyses: Absent. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid (in mature ascomata). Interascal Hyphae: Absent. Hypothecium: Dark brown.

Asci: Broadly clavate (saccate), distinctly stipitate (shortly stipitate), 30-40 µm long, 13-16 µm wide; tholus not amyloid; dehiscence bitunicate (fissitunicate); exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: Not uniseriate, c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 13-15-16 µm long, 4-5-5.5 µm wide, obtuse; septa present, transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; lumina of equal size or apically enlarged, constricted at the centre; wall thin (young ascospores), becoming pigmented, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution positive, wall not ornamented (young ascospores) or ornamented (mature ascospores).

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.
