Ecology: Biotroph; lichenicolous; growing on living leaves. Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: 'Bacidia' colchica.

Thallus: Indistinct.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Perithecioid, globose or subglobose (to broadly ellipsoid), forming inside the thallus or mycelium of the host, becoming adnate to soon sessile, 35-75 µm wide, 40-90 µm high, with a black surface. Margin: Black, homogenously pigmented, 4-12 µm wide. Disk: Papillose (on apex). Exciple: Paraplectenchymatous; brown or dark brown. Periphyses: Present. Hymenium: Gelatinized, iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Absent. Hypothecium: Brown or dark brown.

Asci: Cylindrical (saccate, elliptical to cylindrical), distinctly stipitate, 25-36 µm long, 9-14 µm wide; tholus not amyloid; ocular chamber absent or present; dehiscence bitunicate (fissitunicate); exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid; ascoplasm dextrinoid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or obovoid, (11)-12-13.2-15 µm long, 2-2.9-3-(4) µm wide, obtuse; septa present, transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; lumina slightly apically enlarged, constricted at the centre; wall thin, not constricted where the septum meets the spore wall (ascospores usually not constricted at the septum), becoming pigmented, hyaline or pale brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.
