Ecology: Biotroph; lichenicolous; growing on bark. Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: Lecanora argentata, L. chlarotera, L. horiza, L. intumescens, L. rugosella, L. salicicola, L. subrugosa.

Thallus: Indistinct.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Perithecioid, globose or subglobose, within the ascocarp disks of the host, not emerging, becoming adnate, abundant, 30-77 µm wide, 40-85 µm high, with a black surface. Margin: Black, homogenously pigmented, 5-12 µm wide. Disk: Smooth. Exciple: Paraplectenchymatous; hyphae 1.5-2 µm wide, 5-8 µm long, brown or dark brown. Periphyses: Present. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed; cells 1.5-2 µm wide. Hypothecium: Brown.

Asci: Globose, clavate, or broadly cylindrical, indistinctly stipitate, 24-37 µm long, 10-18 µm wide; ocular chamber present; dehiscence bitunicate; ascoplasm dextrinoid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or oblong-obtuse, (11)-12-12.6-14-(16) µm long, (2.5)-3-3.3-4 µm wide, obtuse; septa present, transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; lumina more or less of equal size; wall thin, not constricted where the septum meets the spore wall or laterally constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, remaining hyaline, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution positive, wall not ornamented or ornamented (finely verrucose).

Conidiomata: Present.

Conidia: 2-3 µm long, .5-1.5 µm wide.
