Wall: Not carbonized. Margin: Black, 5-10 µm wide; external filaments absent. Disk: Smooth. Exciple: Paraplectenchymatous; hyphae 3-6 µm wide, 4.5-11 µm long, not carbonized, brownish red. Periphyses: Present. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugols negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed; cells 1.5-2.5 µm wide. Hypothecium: Pale brownish red.
Asci: Clavate, not stipitate or distinctly stipitate, 27-34 µm long, 10-11.5 µm wide; tholus not amyloid; ocular chamber present; narrow; dehiscence bitunicate (fissitunicate); exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid; ascoplasm dextrinoid (endoascus BCr+ pale violet).
Ascospores: Not uniseriate, c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, obclavate, or oblong, (9)-10-11.2-12.5-(13) µm long, 3-3.4-4 µm wide, obtuse; septa present, transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; lumina of equal size or apically enlarged, constricted at the centre; wall thin, becoming pigmented, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution positive (epispore BCr+ intense blue), wall not ornamented.
