Thallus: Foliose, lobed; separate thallus parts 4 mm wide. Thallus Size and Differentiation: 30 cm in diameter; apex distinctly broader than average; curved upwards. Thallus Outline: Margin concolorous the thallus centre. Upper Surface: Brown or dark brown, smooth; ciliate; hairs laminal; isidiate; not lobulate. Lower Surface: Black, loosely attached attached; rhizines abundant, with projections.
Lower Cortex: Paraplectenchymatous, of anticlinal hyphae.
Ascocarps: Moderately abundant, 3 mm in diam.. Margin: Isidiate.
Ascospores: Physcia-type, (19)-22-27-(32) µm long, (9)-10-12-(14) µm wide.
Conidiomata: Sparse or strongly abundant.
