Thallus: Foliose, lobed; lobes irregularly flabellate; rounded at the front; plane (at tips) or convex (inwards from tips); separate thallus parts 1-2 mm wide. Thallus Size and Differentiation: Up to 5 cm in diameter; apex not curved. Upper Surface: Grey or grey-brown; pruinose; pruina abundant; continuous; without hairs (but very sparse on some lobe tips); not isidate; sorediate; soralia grey or brown, peripheral, terminal, labriform, isidiate, soredia usually coarse. Lower Surface: Brown (very pale) or white in the centre, white along the margin, loosely attached attached; rhizines sparse or moderately abundant, white or pale brown, not branched or branched, sparsely furcate.
Upper Cortex: Outer cortical layer prosoplectenchymatous. Medulla: White. Lower Cortex: Present; prosoplectenchymatous, of periclinal hyphae.
Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form (none seen).
Secondary Metabolites: Present; throughout the thallus medulla, metabolite(s) of unresolved identity: present (unknown terpenoid).
