Thallus: Foliose (small-foliose), subdivided into main parts, irregular, lobed (small-foliose); lobes elongate (subirregular to sublinear-elongate), imbricate (or not); branches applanate (moderately flattened); separate thallus parts.5-1 mm wide. Thallus Size and Differentiation: 1-3 cm in diameter. Upper Surface: Lime green, glossy (shiny) (at least apically), smooth (at least at lobe margins); immaculate; isidiate; isidia central, cylindrical (subglubose becoming cylindrical), not ramified or ramified, coralloid; not sorediate. Lower Surface: Present, brown or lime green (pale brown; lobe apices shiny and darker); rhizinate; rhizines sparse or moderately abundant, brown or lime green (concolorous with lower surface), not branched.
Medulla: White.
Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, soon sessile, up to 2 mm in diam.. Margin: Smooth, distinct; isidiate (sparingly isdiate). Disk: Excavate, brown (dark brown and shiny).
Ascospores: 8-10 µm long, 4.5-5.5 µm wide.
Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.
Secondary Metabolites: Present; throughout the thallus medulla, colensoic acid (colensoic acid (major) and also containing traces of +/- scabrosin 4-acetate 4'-butyrate, +/- scabrosin 4-acetate 4'-hexanoate, +/- scabrosin 4,4' dibutyrate and +/- scabrosin 4,4' diacetate) and usnic acid, metabolite(s) of unresolved identity: present (unidentified fatty acids).
