Upper Surface: Matt; not fissurate; fissures without extrusions or with extrusions, transversely oriented oriented; not foveate; without patches; not pseudocyphellate; cilia slender, laminal; without isidiomorphs; papillae verrucose; not sorediate; not tuberculate.

Upper Cortex: (7)-9-12-(17) % of thallus width. Medulla: (4)-10-21-(27) % of branch width, dense or compact; (27)-39-53-(71) % of thallus width, solid.

Ascocarps: Forming directly at the tip of the thallus parts or close to the the tip of the thallus parts, abundant (rarely few or absent).

Ascospores: 8.5-11 µm long.

Secondary Metabolites: Alectorialic acid (when present, only in apothecia), atranorin, bourgeanic acid, diffractaic acid, squamatic acid, and thamnolic acid.
