Disk: Plane to slightly weakly convex, black or dark brown, epruinose. Exciple: Dark brown (paler inside). Epithecium: Apical cells distinctly swollen; dark brown, brown, or olive. Hymenium: 40-60 µm high; white. Interascal Hyphae: Scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Pale brown or white.

Asci: Dehiscence lecanoralean.

Ascospores: Ellipsoid (to fusiform; often one end attenuated, sometimes slightly curved), (10.5)-12-15-(18) µm long, (4.5)-5.5-7-(7.5) µm wide; septa absent.
