Ascocarps: Soon sessile, strongly constricted at the base, 1.1-1.4-(2.1) mm in diam.. Margin: Not flexuose or slightly flexuose, persistent, 120-200 µm wide, epruinose. Disk: Plane to weakly convex, black, epruinose, without an umbo, forming occasionally, on few disks only. Exciple: Pink (rosé); inspersed with crystals. Epithecium: Apical cells brown or black, cell pigment reacting with 10% HCl (in H2O). Hymenium: 35-45 µm high; pink (rosé); iodine reaction: Lugol’s positive. Subhymenium: 10-25 µm high; white or pink (rosé). Hypothecium: Brown or dark brown.

Ascospores: Ellipsoid, oblong, or cylindrical, (5)-6.2-7.7-(10) µm long, (2.7)-3.1-3.7-(4.5) µm wide; wall not ornamented.
