Thallus: Crustose, rimose; separate thallus parts thin (0.2 - 0.5 mm). Thallus Outline: Soon disappearing. Upper Surface: Grey, white, olive, or brownish yellow, rough; not sorediate.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Soon sessile, slightly constricted at the base, .8-.9 mm in diam.. Margin: Lecanorine, more or less persistent, distinct (mostly developed), brighter than the surrounding thallus. Disk: Plane to sub-weakly convex, black, epruinose. Exciple: White. Amphithecium (thalline excipulum): Photobiont abundant. Epithecium: Apical cells slightly swollen, brown (dark violet-brown). Hymenium: Brown (weakly violet-brown) to white to pink (rosé). Hypothecium: White or pale brownish yellow.

Ascospores: Ellipsoid, 9-14 µm long, 5-7 µm wide.

Conidiomata: Immersed.

Conidia: Cylindrical; 11-14 µm long.

Secondary Metabolites: Anziaic acid, atranorin, glomelliferic acid, or perlatolic acid.
