Thallus: Crustose, areolate (primarily areolate) (verrucose); separate thallus parts thick. Thallus Size and Differentiation: Up to 12 cm long. Thallus Outline: Soon disappearing. Upper Surface: Pale brown or lemon (citrine) (creamy), smooth.

Upper Cortex: Present.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages (max. diam. 0.9-1.8(-3) mm). Ascocarps: Apothecioid, soon sessile, not constricted (mostly) at the base, .5-1.2 mm in diam.. Margin: More or less persistent, distinct, 60-150 µm wide. Disk: Plane or weakly convex, dark brown, epruinose. Exciple: Brown or white. Parathecium (proper excipulum): Brown (faint) or white.
