Epithecium: Apical cells distinctly swollen (tips completely brown, similar in colour and structure to the upper cells of the exciple), brown. Hymenium: 45-60 µm high; white. Interascal Hyphae: Scarcely branched. Hypothecium: 15-25 µm high; black or dark brown.
Asci: Dehiscence lecanoralean.
Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 8-10 µm long, 3.5-4.5 µm wide; septa absent; wall thin, not ornamented.
