Thallus: Crustose, not subdivided parts. Thallus Outline: Persistent; white. Upper Surface: Greenish grey.

Upper Cortex: Present.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, soon sessile, abundant, .2-.5 mm in diam.. Margin: Lecideine/biatorine, 30-50 µm wide. Disk: Plane or weakly convex, black, brown, or dark brown. Exciple: Not carbonized; brown. Parathecium (proper excipulum): Dark brown. Epithecium: Apical cells distinctly swollen (tips completely brown, similar in colour and structure to the upper cells of the exciple), brown. Hymenium: 45-60 µm high; white. Interascal Hyphae: Scarcely branched. Hypothecium: 15-25 µm high; black or dark brown.

Asci: Dehiscence lecanoralean.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 8-10 µm long, 3.5-4.5 µm wide; septa absent; wall thin, not ornamented.
