Nomenclature: Taxonomic rank: species. Lecidella. Lecanoraceae Körb. (1855); Lecanorales.

Thallus: Crustose, areolate (primarily areolate); separate thallus parts thin (up to 0.5 mm). Upper Surface: Grey-yellow (pale beige).

Ascocarps: Soon sessile, slightly constricted or strongly constricted at the base, .25-1 mm in diam.. Margin: Lecideine/biatorine, excluded, indistinct. Disk: Strongly convex (mostly), black. Exciple: Not carbonized; aeruginose. Parathecium (proper excipulum): White. Amphithecium (thalline excipulum): Present. Epithecium: Apical cells slightly swollen, turquoise. Hymenium: 70 µm high; white. Interascal Hyphae: Scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, 8.5-10 µm long, 7-8.5 µm wide; wall thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not ornamented.
