Margin: Lecideine/biatorine, persistent (normally), distinct or indistinct. Disk: Plane or weakly convex, black, epruinose. Exciple: Not carbonized; black. Parathecium (proper excipulum): Nearly white or brownish yellow (rarely). Amphithecium (thalline excipulum): Present. Epithecium: Apical cells distinctly swollen (up to 4 µm diam.). Hymenium: 50-70 µm high; white; oil inspersed. Interascal Hyphae: Scarcely branched or distinctly branched (sometimes, if damaged ?), not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White or pale brownish yellow.

Ascospores: Ellipsoid or ovoid, 11-14 µm long, 5-7 µm wide; septa absent.

Conidiomata: Present; immersed.
