Type Information: Basionym: Lecidea cyanosarca Zahlbr. in Skottsberg, Natur. Hist. Juan Fernandez 2: 359 (1924).

Thallus: Crustose, areolate (primarily areolate) (in the center); separate thallus parts thick (up to 2 mm).

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Forming along the margin of the thallus parts (immersed between areoles), not emerging, .3-1.4 mm in diam.. Margin: Excluded. Disk: Weakly convex, black. Epithecium: Apical cells turquoise (intensely). Hymenium: 60-80 µm high; white. Hypothecium: Brown.

Spot Tests: Upper surface: K + deep yellow, C + orange, KC + orange, PD – medulla: C –.
