Thallus: Crustose, not subdivided parts; separate thallus parts thin (up to 0.3 mm). Upper Surface: Pale grey, matt, smooth; epruinose.

Medulla: Iodine reaction in Lugol's solution negative.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, soon sessile, slightly constricted at the base, sparse or moderately abundant, up to.7 mm in diam.. Margin: Lecideine/biatorine, distinct (from the beginning). Disk: Plane to weakly convex, black, epruinose. Exciple: Carbonized; grey-green or aeruginose. Parathecium (proper excipulum): White. Amphithecium (thalline excipulum): Present. Episamma: Without episamma. Epithecium: Apical cells slightly swollen, dark green or turquoise. Hymenium: 55-70-85 µm high; white; not inspers. Hypothecium: White.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, (8.5)-10.5-(14) µm long, (4.5)-6-(7.5) µm wide.

Secondary Metabolites: 2'-O-methylperlatolic acid.
