Nomenclature: Current taxonomic status: accepted or basionymous. Taxonomic rank: species. Lecanora. Lecanoraceae Körb. (1855).

Biogeography: Continent: Asia-Temperate.

Ecology: Substrate non-calciferous.

Thallus: Areolate (primarily areolate); separate thallus parts thick. Thallus Outline: Indistinct; soon disappearing. Upper Surface: Verrucose or verruculose, lemon (citrine), orange, or pale grey, glossy (shiny), smooth; epruinose; not sorediate.

Ascocarps: Not emerging, becoming adnate to soon sessile. Margin: Lecanorine, smooth or rough, not flexuose, excluded, indistinct to distinct, concolourous with the surrounding thallus; without a thin rim between disk and thalline margin. Disk: Plane, dark brown or grey-brown, epruinose. Parathecium (proper excipulum): White, not inspersed with crystals. Amphithecium (thalline excipulum): Present; crystals dissolving in 10% KOH; photobiont abundant. Amphithecial Cortex: Absent. Episamma: Without episamma. Epithecium: Apical cells slightly swollen, olive or dark green, cell pigment reacting with 10% KOH. Hymenium: Not inspers. Hypothecium: White; not inspers.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, broadly ellipsoid, (7.5)-8-9.5-11-(12) µm long, (6.5)-7-7.5-8.5-(9) µm wide; wall thin, not ornamented.

Secondary Metabolites: Atranorin, of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsides and (higher) aliphatic acids.
