Thallus: Indistinct. Upper Surface: Special structures absent.
Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Slightly constricted at the base, .25-.5 mm in diam.. Margin: Smooth, persistent, distinct to prominent. Disk: Weakly convex (mostly), black, epruinose, without an umbo. Exciple: Black, grey, green, or brown. Parathecium (proper excipulum): Dark brown. Amphithecium (thalline excipulum): Present; 20 µm wide. Epithecium: Apical cells distinctly swollen, black, grey, green, or dark turquoise. Hymenium: White or pale green. Hypothecium: Black or dark brown.
Ascospores: Oblong-obtuse, (7)-7.5-9.7-11.4-(14) µm long, (3)-3.3-3.7-4.1-(4.5) µm wide; septa absent or present (occasionally).
