Thallus: Crustose, not subdivided parts, squamulose or subfruticose. Upper Surface: Brown, grey, or olive; special structures absent. Lower Surface: Attached by the whole lower surface; special structures absent.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming directly at the thallus margin, soon sessile to stipitate. Margin: Distinct to prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Brown, white, or brownish yellow. Periphyses: Absent. Hymenium: Mazaedioid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed.

Asci: Tholus not thickened; dehiscence prototunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 15-21 µm long, 7-10 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; wall not thickened at the septum, dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed.

Conidia: Bifusiform.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
