Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging. Margin: Indistinct. Periphyses: Absent. Hymenium: Mazaedioid. Hypothecium: Black or brown.

Asci: Tholus not thickened; dehiscence prototunicate.

Ascospores: Ellipsoid, 13-28 µm long, 12-15 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate or both transversally and longitudinally; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsides, orcinol depsidones, ß-orcinol depsidones, (anthra-)quinones, pulvinic acid derivatives, and dibenzofurans [and usnic acids].
