Lower Surface: Attached by the whole lower surface; special structures absent.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging, becoming adnate to substipitate, stromatic. Margin: Distinct to prominent. Exciple: White. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown or brownish yellow. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black or brown.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, curved or fusiform, 16-36.5 µm long, 3.5-7 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa present; transversally septate, 3-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline or pale brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed or sessile to stipitate, formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidia: Filiform, bacilliform, or curved; cell wall hyaline.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsides, ß-orcinol depsides, ß-orcinol depsidones, (higher) aliphatic acids, and dibenzofurans [and usnic acids].
