Exciple: Green, olive, brownish yellow, or brown. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells hyaline. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Green, olive, brownish yellow, or brown.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence unitunicate; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or ovoid, 5-12 µm long, 1.8-4.5 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa absent; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.
