Ascocarps: Perithecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging, becoming adnate. Margin: External filaments absent. Exciple: Black or brown. Periphyses: Present. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, distinctly anastomosed.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence bitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, filiform or fusiform, 60-95 µm long, 2-3 µm wide, aciculate; septa present; transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
