Lower Surface: Attached by the whole lower surface; special structures absent; not pseudocyphellate; not cyphellate; not rhizinate; without thalloconidia thalloconidia; not cavernulate; not tomentose.

Medulla: Iodine reaction in Lugol's solution negative.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, becoming adnate. Wall: Not carbonized, not fused. Margin: Indistinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: White. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells hyaline. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s positive (faintly blue). Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White.

Asci: Tholus not thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence prototunicate; exoascus not amyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, broadly ellipsoid (to subglobose), 7.5-10 µm long, 5-7.5 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent; wall thin or thick (finally), not thickened at the septum, not constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Present; pycnidial; immersed, formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidiogeneous Cells: Apical. Conidia: Ellipsoid or bacilliform; microconidial; aseptate; cell wall hyaline.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
