Exciple: Black, green, olive, brownish yellow, brown, or orange. Periphyses: Absent. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s positive, hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, distinctly anastomosed. Hypothecium: White, green, olive, brownish yellow, or brown.

Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, with amyloid tube; dehiscence bitunicate; exoascus euamyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: Ellipsoid, broadly ellipsoid, ovoid, oblong, or fusiform, 10-50 µm long, 3.5-15 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa present; transversally septate or both transversally and longitudinally, 3-56-transversally septate; wall thin or thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial.

Conidia: Bacilliform.
