Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Perithecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging. Margin: Indistinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black, brown, or white. Periphyses: Present. Interascal Hyphae: Absent (or soon disappearing).

Asci: Tholus thickened or slightly not thickened, not amyloid; ocular chamber indistinct; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or ovoid, 12-23 µm long, 4-10 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate, 1-3-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.
