Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging, becoming adnate. Margin: Indistinct to distinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: White or brownish yellow. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells black, brown, hyaline, or brownish yellow. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed to distinctly anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black, brown, white, or brownish yellow.

Asci: Tholus not thickened or thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence lecanoralean.

Ascospores: 1–2 to c. 8 per ascus, globose, broadly ellipsoid, ellipsoid, fusiform, cylindrical, oblong-obtuse, or oblong, 35-390 µm long, 4-50 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa present; transversally septate or both transversally and longitudinally, 3-23-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline or pale brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed, formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidia: Bacilliform.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): ß-orcinol depsidones.
