Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging, becoming adnate. Margin: Indistinct to distinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black or brown. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells hyaline. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, fusiform or oblong-obtuse, 20-22 µm long, 11-12 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate, 3-transversally septate, formed by the endospore wall layer; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, pale brown or dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected or present, of the following substance class(es): ß-orcinol depsidones.
