Ascocarps: Perithecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging, becoming adnate to soon sessile. Wall: Not carbonized, not fused. Margin: External filaments absent. Exciple: Black or brown. Periphyses: Absent. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, distinctly anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black or brown.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; ocular chamber broad; dehiscence bitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, oblong, or fusiform, 30-45 µm long, 10-17 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate or both transversally and longitudinally, 1-4-transversally septate, formed by the endospore wall layer; wall not thickened at the septum, laterally constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, pale brown or dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall ornamented.

Conidiomata: Present or absent resp. not observed.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
