Hypothecium: White.

Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid; dehiscence lecanoralean.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, oblong-obtuse, 10-12 µm long, 4-5 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent or present (rarely very indistinctly septate); wall thin, not thickened at the septum, not constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Present; pycnidial.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): dibenzofurans [and usnic acids] and ß-orcinol depsides (divaricatic acid).
