Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Perithecioid, orbicular, becoming adnate to soon sessile. Margin: External filaments present. Exciple: Brown or brownish yellow. Periphyses: Present. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Absent. Hypothecium: Brown or brownish yellow.

Asci: Tholus not thickened or thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence unitunicate (with non-amyloid apical ring); exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or fusiform, 6-7 µm long, 1.5-2 µm wide, aciculate; septa present; transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.
