Margin: Indistinct to prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black, brown, green, olive, or red. Epithecium: Apical cells orange. Hymenium: Mazaedioid. Ascospores: Ellipsoid, broadly ellipsoid, oblong, cylindrical, or oblong-obtuse, 5.5-15 µm long, 1.5-4.5 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate, 1-7-transversally septate; wall not thickened at the septum, dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall ornamented.
