Medulla: Iodine reaction in Lugol's solution negative; not different with or without KOH pre-treatment (euamyloid).

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, becoming adnate to soon sessile. Wall: Not carbonized, not fused. Margin: Indistinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: Brown. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown (pale olive-). Hymenium: Oil inspersed (usually), iodine reaction: Lugol’s positive. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Brownish yellow (to red-brown).

Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, entirely amyloid throughout; dehiscence lecanoralean.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, broadly ellipsoid, (10)-12-16-(18) µm long, (6)-7-10 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate, 1-transversally septate, formed by the proper spore wall; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, not constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Present; pycnidial; immersed, formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidia: Bacilliform; microconidial, not branched; aseptate; cell wall hyaline.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
