Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular or irregular, forming all across the thallus surface, soon sessile, stromatic. Margin: Prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Black or brown. Periphyses: Absent. Hymenium: Mazaedioid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched.

Asci: Tholus not thickened; dehiscence prototunicate.

Ascospores: Ellipsoid, 9-10 µm long, 5-6 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent or present; transversally septate, 1-4-transversally septate; wall thin or thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not thickened at the septum, laterally constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.
