Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular or irregular, not emerging, becoming adnate to soon sessile. Margin: Indistinct to distinct; external filaments absent. Exciple: Olive, yellow, or brown. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells olive, yellow, or brown. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White, olive, yellow, brownish yellow, or brown (middle to dark).

Asci: Tholus not thickened or thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence unitunicate; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, globose, ellipsoid, broadly ellipsoid, ovoid, oblong-obtuse, oblong, cylindrical, clavate, or curved, 4-18 µm long, 1.5-7 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa absent or present; transversally septate, 0-3-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.

Conidia: Ellipsoid or curved (allantoid); microconidial.
