Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface or directly at the thallus margin, soon sessile. Margin: Indistinct to distinct; external filaments absent. Periphyses: Absent.

Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, with non-amyloid narrow axial body and amyloid convergent flanks towards apex; dehiscence lecanoralean.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, filiform or fusiform, 12-35 µm long, 2-3 µm wide; septa present; transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present.

Conidia: Bacilliform.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): dibenzofurans [and usnic acids].
