Epithecium: Apical cells hyaline. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black, brown, or brownish yellow.

Asci: Dehiscence unitunicate; exoascus not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, clavate, curved, or semilunate, 33-83 µm long, 2-5 µm wide; septa present; transversally septate, 4-10-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed or sessile, formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidia: Bacilliform.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected or present, of the following substance class(es): ß-orcinol depsidones.
