Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, rarely ovoid, cylindrical (rarely), or fusiform, (5.5)-14.5-17-(39) µm long, (2.5)-4-12.5-(14.5) µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate, 1-3-transversally septate; wall thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, thickened at the septum, not constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, hyaline or pale brown, not ornamented (rarely) or ornamented (usually spinulose to tuberculate).
