Ascocarps: Apothecioid or perithecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, not emerging, soon sessile. Margin: Prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: White. Periphyses: Present. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched to distinctly branched, not or scarcely anastomosed to distinctly anastomosed. Hypothecium: White.

Ascospores: c. 4 to c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 42-70 µm long, 23-39 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent; wall thin or thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, pale brown, or dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; stipitate, formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidia: Bacilliform.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): ß-orcinol depsidones.
