Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or fusiform, 10-28 µm long, 4-12 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa absent; wall thick, distinctly differentiated into primary and secondary wall, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented or ornamented.
