Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Perithecioid, orbicular or irregular, forming all across the thallus surface. Wall: Not fused. Margin: External filaments absent. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, distinctly anastomosed. Hypothecium: Black or brown.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; ocular chamber broad; dehiscence bitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 4 to c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, oblong, or oblong-obtuse, 30-52 µm long, 12-18 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; both transversally and longitudinally, 3-11-transversally septate, formed by the endospore wall layer; wall not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; formed all accross the thallus surface.

Conidia: Bacilliform.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected or present, of the following substance class(es): (anthra-)quinones.
