Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, soon sessile. Margin: Distinct to prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: White to brownish yellow. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White to brownish yellow.
Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, with non-amyloid wide axial body and divergent amyloid flanks towards apex; dehiscence lecanoralean.
Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid to broadly ellipsoid to curved to fusiform to reniform, 12-45 µm long, 3.5-12 µm wide, obtuse to aciculate; septa absent to present; transversally septate, 1-7-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.
Conidiomata: Present to absent resp. not observed; pycnidial; immersed, formed all accross the thallus surface.
Conidia: Bacilliform to filiform.
Secondary Metabolites: Not detected to present, of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsidones to ß-orcinol depsidones to (higher) aliphatic acids to dibenzofurans [and usnic acids].
