Biogeography: Checklist records: Austria, Italy, and Sweden and Norway.

Ecology: Biotroph; lichenized; bryophytic; substrate non-calciferous (partly on cyanobacteria).

Lichen Photobionts: Primary photobiont present; chlorococcal. Secondary photobiont absent.

Thallus: Crustose, not subdivided parts. Upper Surface: Grey; special structures absent. Lower Surface: Attached by the whole lower surface; special structures absent.

Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming all across the thallus surface, soon sessile. Margin: Distinct. Exciple: White or brownish yellow. Epithecium: Apical cells brown. Interascal Hyphae: Present, scarcely branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: White or brownish yellow.

Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, with non-amyloid wide axial body and divergent amyloid flanks towards apex; dehiscence lecanoralean.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, oblong-obtuse, reniform, oblong, or curved, (14)-15-23-(26) µm long, 3.5-9 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent or present; transversally septate, 0-1-transversally septate; wall thin, hyaline, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed.

Conidia: Filiform.

Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsidones and (higher) aliphatic acids.
