Reproduction Strategy: Only known as sterile, asexually reproducing form or with sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Apothecioid, orbicular, forming directly at the tip of the thallus parts, stipitate. Margin: Prominent; external filaments absent. Exciple: Grey, white, or brownish yellow. Periphyses: Absent. Epithecium: Apical cells brown. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, not or scarcely anastomosed. Hypothecium: Brown or white.
Asci: Tholus thickened, amyloid, entirely amyloid throughout; dehiscence lecanoralean.
Ascospores: 12 to c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or oblong, 50-120 µm long, 13-55 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; both transversally and longitudinally, 8-9-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, hyaline or pale brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.
Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed, formed along the thallus periphery.
Conidia: Filiform.
Secondary Metabolites: Present, of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsides, ß-orcinol depsides, and ß-orcinol depsidones.
