Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, distinctly anastomosed. Hypothecium: White, red, green, olive, brownish yellow, or brown.

Asci: Tholus thickened, not amyloid; dehiscence bitunicate; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: c. 4 to c. 8 per ascus, ellipsoid or broadly ellipsoid, 7-28 µm long, 3-10 µm wide, obtuse or aciculate; septa present; transversally septate, 1-3-transversally septate; wall thin, not thickened at the septum, laterally constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, pale brown to middle brown or dark brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented or ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed or present; pycnidial; immersed to sessile.

Conidiogeneous Cells: Apical. Conidia: Globose (to obpyriform) or reniform; not branched; aseptate; up to 0-septate; cell wall hyaline.
