Ecology: Biotroph; phytopathogenic; growing on leaves, epiphyllous (mostly). Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: Asclepias sp.; Asclepias, Asclepiadaceae.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Cleistothecioid, orbicular, forming independently from the host thallus or mycelium, scattered or in loose groups, .07-.11 mm in diam.. Margin: External filaments present (usually short, shorter than the cleistothecial diam. or about as long as the diam., often rudimentary, rarely longer than the diam.); mycelioid (shape and width irregular, with constrictons), straight, up to 1 µm long, 4.5-10 µm in diameter, hyaline (when narrow; brown when coarse) or pigmented, few (usually less than 10), growing all across the lower half of the ascocarp, smooth, thin, not ramified, septate.

Asci: 1 asci per ascocarp, not stipitate, 50-75 µm long, 45-70 µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 (spores rarely developed, mostly immature) per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, subglobose or ellipsoid, 15-21 µm long, 12-16 µm wide; septa absent.

Conidiomata: Present; hyphomycetous.

Conidiophores: Euoidium-type; not branched; basal cells 50 µm long, 12.5 µm wide. Conidium Formation: Conidiogenous cells in chains. Conidia: Ellipsoid, ovoid, or cylindrical; macroconidial, not branched, 28-32 µm long, 18-20 µm wide; aseptate; with distintly visible fibrosin body fibrosin bodies.
