Ecology: Biotroph; phytopathogenic; growing on stems or leaves, amphigenous. Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: Paeonia hybrida Pall.; Paeonia, Paeoniaceae.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Cleistothecioid, orbicular, forming independently from the host thallus or mycelium, scattered, (.06)-.066-.09 mm in diam.. Margin: External filaments present; mycelioid, straight, 1.5-5 µm long, hyaline (brown in the lower part, paler upwards), few, 7-9 per mm², growing all across the lower half of the ascocarp, not ramified, septate.

Asci: 1 asci per ascocarp, clavate, not stipitate, 66-84-(99) µm long, 57-66 µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid (-oblong), 18-27-(30) µm long, 12-18 µm wide; septa absent.
