Ecology: Biotroph; phytopathogenic; growing on leaves, amphigenous (scarce, inconspicuous). Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: Elaeagnus argentea Pursh.; Elaeagnus, Elaeagnaceae.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages (amphigenous). Ascocarps: Cleistothecioid, orbicular, forming independently from the host thallus or mycelium, scattered or in loose groups, (.22)-.25-.28-(.285) mm in diam.. Margin: External filaments present (bulbous swelling ca. 40-55 µm diam.); not interlaced, straight, .75-1.25-(1.5) µm long, few, 6-12 per mm², growing between the lower and upper hald of the ascocarp, stiff and straight, not ramified.

Asci: At least 20 asci per ascocarp, distinctly stipitate, 70-90 µm long, 30-35 µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate (numerous, content often yellowish).

Ascospores: 1–2 per ascus, spores 2 per ascus, subglobose (sometimes), ellipsoid, or ovoid, 30-35 µm long, 19-24 µm wide; septa absent.
